First of all, what is the THT Multi-Control HUB?


The THT Multi-Control HUB is a hardware platform that serves as a centralized hub for integrating IoT devices such as electric door locks and various sensors.

It was fully developed in-house and launched as a commercial product in 2020.

Please tell us about the development process.


It all started when a client approached us with a concern. They had installed a contactless card-based access control system, but found it difficult to manage, and even worse, it was incompatible with other network systems.


There are many access control security systems available on the market. However, because they are sold as proprietary, vendor-specific packages consisting of control panels, controllers, and card readers, by a single manufacturer. They are tied to each manufacture's communication protocols and standards. As a result, there is limited flexibility when integrating new devices or interoperating with other systems.


To ensure scalability and adaptability, especially in scenarios that weren't anticipated at the time of installation, companies often have no choice but to replace the entire system or develop custom devices, which is both costly and time-consuming solution.


To address this issue, we decided to develop our own general-purpose control platform and controller, capable of integrating with devices from a wide range of manufacturers and specifications.


And that's how the "THT Multi-Control HUB" was born: a customizable, versatile solution built to meet the diverse and evolving needs of our clients.

What kind of IoT devices can the hub connect to?


The THT Multi-Control HUB can connect to a wide range of hardware devices, such as:

That's a fantastic product... It's certainly a great thing to be able to freely choose devices without being locked into one manufacturer is a huge advantage.

What other advantages does it offer?


One key strength of the "THT Multi-Control HUB" is its scalability, allowing for future expansion and support for devices that have not yet been released.


Normally, connecting devices from different manufacturers or using different communication protocols would void the manufacturer's warranties. However, by building the network through the THT Multi-Control HUB, we can provide support and effectively address this warranty issue as well.

I see. So THT is also a reassuring presence for manufacturers.

How have stakeholders and clients responded?


First, the flexibility of the IoT environment is no longer constrained by individual manufacturers' specifications, making it easier to realize ideal setups. It has also simplified system architecture and configuration for contractors, which in turn reduces the time and cost of design, development, and installation.

Additionally, the ability to customize the system to each client's needs has been highly appreciated. We are confident that it will become a standard solution for IoT environments.
