Cloud SI Department (R.T)

Please tell us about your work.
In the Cloud System Integration department, I develop internal-use applications and provide support for IT consulting tasks.
Can you tell us more about your specific responsibilities?
Recently, I developed a web-based scheduling tool for our company in response to a request from the General Affairs and Accounting Office.
Currently, we're rebuilding a legacy system that was previously used by a steel manufacturer. In this project, the Cloud System Integration Department acts as a consultant, bridging the gap between the client and the development vendor. My role involves coordinating with both sides and refining system specifications to ensure the final product meets the client's needs.
Please tell us about your background.
After graduating from a vocational school specializing in information technology in my hometown of Hyogo, I worked as a software engineer for about three years.
When I first joined my previous company, I wasn't very confident in my programming skills, but by the time I left, that hesitation had disappeared. Seeking a new challenge beyond development work, I began looking for a new role.
During my job search, right in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, remote interviews had become the norm. This shift allowed me to consider opportunities beyond the Kansai region, including companies in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Fukuoka. That's when I came across THT and became interested in joining.
Please tell us how you came to join THT.
Actually, I had received another job offer from a company in Tokyo, but I ended up turning it down because some of the conditions differed from what had originally been presented.
In contrast, THT's offer met all my expectations. During my first interview, conducted by the company CEO himself, he seemed to recognize potential in me despite my somewhat nervous and hesitant responses. At that moment, he even called in the manager of the prospective department to confirm a few details, and I was offered the position on the spot. The experience left a very positive impression and gave me confidence about joining the company.
Were you able to achieve the kind of work you were hoping to do at THT?
In my first year at THT, I was assigned to the New Business Development Office, and in my second year, I moved to the Cloud System Integration Department.
This is my first experience working with cloud services such as AWS, so I am currently studying for certifications while managing my daily tasks. I had never been involved in infrastructure before, so from the perspective of taking on new challenges, I feel that I'm achieving the kind of work I had hoped to do.
At the same time, I also have the opportunity to work on development projects at THT. Since I have previous experience in development, I can approach these tasks with confidence, which gives me a sense of reassurance. Recently, when I helped organize data materials at my manager's request, he told me, "I'm really glad you're here," which made me genuinely happy. There's also a unique satisfaction in seeing something you've built through code come to life. I believe that this experience will also be valuable in the consulting field, so I hope to continue deepening my skills in development while expanding my expertise in cloud services and infrastructure.
How is THT as a learning environment?
This might be a little embarrassing to admit, but I've never been very good at studying, and sitting at a desk for long periods has actually made me feel unwell since I was a child.
To manage this, I've developed two strategies that help me stay on track with certifications: setting clear time limits for study sessions, and giving myself permission to stop as soon as I feel I've reached my limit.
At THT, whenever I'm stuck, there's always someone willing to help, and my supervisors take the time to explain things properly when I ask questions.
The fact that it's such an approachable environment make it easy to ask questions and learn, which is incredibly reassuring. This kind of support really helps me grow and continue developing my skills.
Please tell us about your career goals.
Looking ahead, I aim to take on responsibilities in the IT consulting fields, such as system proposals and requirements definition. To achieve this, I have been reaffirming the value of continuing to be involved in development work.
In addition, since THT itself is a growing company, there is a need to create materials such as document templates and manuals from scratch. Improving efficiency through better documentation is another challenge I recognize and would like to actively contribute to addressing.

THT offers many opportunities to take on unexpected tasks and explore new challenges.
If you're someone who embraces change and is eager to learn and grow, you'll find this to be a rewarding and stimulating environment.
